An unforgettable night

In one common day of summer there was an event that changed the lives of many people of my country. That Saturday of February was as the rest of the Saturdays of my daily life. At night, my sister and I had some problems with our children; my nephew was a little anxious and my daughter couldn’t sleep. Finally my baby fell sleep and I fell sleep too with her in my bed. Suddenly I woke up for a strange movement and sound of my house, I am not usually scared for any natural phenomenon, but that was something unknown for me. I straightened up and the terrible earthquake began, a strong movement shook everything, I quickly jumped of my bed and I turned on the light, I saw my daughter and she was awake, I could saw a expression of uneasiness in her face, so I swiftly take her in my arms and I opened the door. My mother was going out of her bedroom and my sister with my nephew too, my mother walked into the door of the kitchen that is next to our bedrooms and she told us that we must go out, but we couldn’t walk because we couldn’t stand still, with her help we walked into the kitchen but the floor was wet and full of little glasses of cups and mugs. My mother walked on a mug and she cut her foot, her motherly instinct of saving us made her forgot her pain. Finally we walked carefully and we went out into the courtyard. We waited there until the earthquake ended, my legs trembled while I tried to stay in calm for not frighten the children. Then we crossed our house and go to the front of the house. Fortunately we didn’t have much damage and all the members of my family are alive, but this kind of experience makes value the people that share our life.
